Great Food with a View: Why Lemon and Olives is a Must-Try in Baguio

Baguio City is a true gem in the Philippines, offering beautiful scenery, cool weather, and delicious food – emphasis on DELICIOUS. Known for its pine forests, lush gardens, and picturesque mountains, it takes a lot of energy to properly enjoy this paradise. And what better way to replenish energy than to fill yourself with Baguio’s savory and diverse food!

Now, about that food…

Now let’s talk about food — because what’s a trip without a good food story, right? During our Baguio getaway, my son and I stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant that totally hit the spot. I had brought him along for a quick break from work, and as a little graduation treat for finishing college. So yep, it was our much-needed father-son bonding time.

On our second day exploring the city, we were seriously craving something different. We made a pact: no Asian food this time — we wanted to try something new. After scrolling through what felt like hundreds of Facebook recommendations, one place caught our eye and ended up being the highlight of our foodie adventure: Lemon and Olives Greek Taverna.

Lemon and Olives Greek Taverna

Lemon and Olives Greek Taverna is a popular Mediterranean and Middle Eastern restaurant located in Baguio City, Philippines. The restaurant offers a wide range of dishes, including shawarma, falafel, hummus, and tabbouleh. The food is flavorful and filling, making it a great option for both lunch and dinner.

Their Must-Try Dishes

One of the standout dishes at Lemon and Olives Greek Taverna is the shawarma platter, which comes with a choice of chicken or beef, served with hummus, tabbouleh, and pita bread. The meat is cooked to perfection and the accompanying sides are fresh and tasty.

In addition to its main dishes, Lemon and Olives Greek Taverna also offers a variety of salads, appetizers, and desserts. The salads are fresh and light, making them a great option for a healthy meal. One of their best is the infamous Greek Salad with a fresh bed of lettuce, tomatoes, bell peppers, and cucumber served with feta cheese and Greek olives. We paired it with some French fries on the side with three kinds of dips depending on your preference.

One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well.

Know What It Feels to Dine In Heaven

Lastly, it ain’t a Baguio meal if you don’t have a heavenly view. One of the best things about Lemon and Olives Greek Taverna is the cozy and inviting atmosphere. The restaurant happens to have one of the best views of the City of Pines that you might as well include it in your itinerary for the view alone. The place is surrounded with pine trees and an overlooking view of the green mountains adorned with clouds. You don’t even need the AC on here cause the cool mountain breeze refreshes the entire establishment.

It has a comfortable and relaxed vibe, making it a great place to enjoy a meal with friends or family on its breezy veranda. And the staff are also friendly and attentive, adding to the overall positive dining experience.

Where To Find Lemon and Olives Greek Taverna

I know, I know — huge mistake not taking more photos during our meal. Now I’m tearing through my hard drive like a madman, hoping to find a few more shots… but no luck so far. So, these are the only photos I’ve got to share with this post — lesson learned for next time!
